Met GALA: The After Party!

The Met Gala is one of my favorite fashion events of the year.  Celebrities from all over come together for this amazing night  that marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit.

Celebrities – both men and woman dress in over the top fashion based on usually a theme.  This year’s them  was “Heavenly Bodies:  Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”  My favorite this year was by far Rihanna – she absolutely hit it on the nail!

With that said, I mostly enjoy the fashions from the after party because in the back of my mind I can “remake” a lot of the looks at an affordable cost! 🙂

Spring Is Here!

It’s officially spring!  I wanted to share a quick post of this fabulous dress I purchased from H&M.  It was such a great find for only $30 and the perfect look for brunch with your girlfriends.  The ruffles at the bottom added a little something special to it!

 

I paired the dress with a satin headband (which I love a good headband!) from H&M and white pumps from Zara.  I added a little jacket from Zara as a little touch.  It matched perfectly with my headband.  🙂

H&M is currently having a 70% markdown!  Happy shopping ladies…

Polka Dot Dress

I’ve never been a huge fan of polka dots but this trend is not going away anytime soon!  I recently purchased this adorable dress from Zara.   It was such a good find for under $20!  Not only am I fan of the silhouette of the dress but the puffy sleeves adds to it!

I paired the dress with black booties also from Zara for only $29.99!  I fell in love with these ruffled ankle boots.  To add a little color, the red hat was the icing on the cake along with the two necklaces from H&M.

This is my second polka dot item purchased and I would definitely be willing to purchase more.  Will you be wearing polka dots this spring???

February Fashion: Metallic!

February is for Fashion Week and we always love the amazing looks from celebrities and attendees.  One look that I’m pretty fond of is the metallic look…. especially with shoes.

Metallic is such an amazing way to turn a “blah” look to an amazing over the top look.

I purchased these amazing booties from Express for only $30!  Such an amazing item to spice up your look.

Cozy Cardigans & Sweaters

It’s winter time and it is very COLD in most places (outside of Florida)! 🙂

While putting together a few looks from a local boutique in Orland – Stitch and Arrow, I came across a few sweaters and cardigans that would be sure to warm you up this winter.

This cardigan below gives me an “Aztec” feel – full of color and oh so comfortable.  I paired with a basic T-shirt, Jeans and boots.  I love the length of the cardigan, it fits perfect!

For the Girl Who Loves Black & White!

My favorite color combo is black and white!  It screams elegance, class and sophistication.  It doesn’t matter what season it is, for some of us – we would wear this color combo everyday.  This post is for the girl that enjoys this color combination!

(G)OLD & The Beautiful!

Gold isn’t the easiest color to wear!  Sometimes the color can be flattering in evening wear, accessories, pair of heels and other times just a little tacky.

I came across these shimmery gold “genie” style pants from Zara for only $20 and didn’t exactly know how to style them.  They actually sat in my closet for months before I gained enough “courage” to wear these cuties. LoL.

I decided to pair them with a pair of cute gold heels from Zara (click link to view).  Gold heels can definitely add a little pop to any outfit!  These are a great deal, only $49.90!  The shirt is from Forever21 – my go to for simple cute shirts.

Count the ways…

Oversized shirts are so in style now! I recently purchased an oversized shirt form Zara and I loved it. I wasn’t sure how to wear it and played around with a few different ways.

 I think a common problem with oversized shirts is their “oversized” and sometimes not the most flattering.  I tried the off the shoulder look which I don’t think is practical for me if I’m out and about. 

My favorite was actually rolling up the sleeves which made it a little puffy but I liked it. How are you wearing this trend?!?

Leather. Bag. Perfection.

A few months ago, leather bag company Mahi Leather reached out to do a post about one of their leather bags of my choice.  I was really excited because I’ve never heard of the company and I’m always looking for a great “everyday” bag.

With that said, I was impressed by the leather quality of the bag.  I wanted to wear the bag for a few months prior to doing a post to really understand the quality of the tote.  The leather is durable, I carry it almost everyday and it compliments any outfit that I’m wearing.

I personally selected The Classic Tote in vintage brown.  The bag is priced at $131.32 – I think it’s an affordable price for a bag that you will wear everyday but it’s depends on your personal budget.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with my beautiful tote. Mahi Leather has so many different bag options – totes, duffles, satchels and more!  Check out the website!
